Celebration of the Treaty of Niagara 1764
This year marks the 250th Anniversary of the 1764 Treaty at Niagara, an agreement that was solidified through the exchange of wampum belts and a ceremonial gathering that affirmed the Nation-to-Nation relationship through the Covenant Chain of Friendship.
To mark this anniversary all leaders and citizens of our Indigenous Nations are invited to attend in this historic two-day celebration to learn from our keepers of Indigenous knowledge, carriers of wampum and sacred items, and to reaffirm our relationships as Indigenous Nations through treaties.
