2015-07-15

In the Kawartha Pine Ridge District School Board there is 92 schools with over 32,000 students, across over 7,000 square kilometres. As responsible stewards KPRDSB need to ensure that their school buildings and configurations provide optimum physical learning environments to complement the academic, social and emotional learning environment.

The new Long Term Accommodation Plan has been developed over the course of this school year, with input from various stakeholders, including recent focus group meetings held in five different low-enrolment secondary schools. Please take a moment to read the KPRDSB's Long Term Accommodation Plan

In March 2015, the Ministry of Education released new Pupil Accommodation Review Guidelines for school boards to follow when completing school reviews.  As a result, KPR updated its policy to reflect the provincial requirements, and brought the draft policy to the June meeting of the Board’s Resource Committee.

The Board is now seeking the community’s comments on the draft Policy BA-1.2, Pupil Accommodation Review: School Closure/Consolidation, before considering it for approval

Comments from students, parents, guardians, staff, school councils and community members are welcome until 4 p.m. on Monday, September 14.
