Six Mississauga Nations to Sign Historic Nationhood Agreement

HAGERSVILLE, ON (Tuesday, October 11, 2016) - The Mississaugas of the New Credit First Nation (MNCFN) is pleased to be hosting an historic nationhood agreement between all six Mississauga First Nations.
The relationship accord signatories are: Mississauga 8, Alderville First Nation, Curve Lake First Nation, Hiawatha First Nation, Mississaugas of the New Credit First Nation, and the Mississaugas of Scugog Island First Nation.
The six Mississauga nations are Anishinabe peoples and share a common history, common language, common culture, common values, common traditions, common beliefs and common aspirations. They also share common traditional lands spanning across southern Ontario. Through the signing of the Accord, the signatories will agree to work in a collaborative and inclusive way on a range of agreed-upon issues and initiatives of common interest or concern among the parties.
The historic signing will take place on October 29, 2016 at 2 p.m. at the MNCFN Community Centre at 659 New Credit Rd. Bldg#4, Hagersville, ON.
