MEMO

TO: Anishinabek Nation Citizens
FROM: Grand Council Chief Patrick Wedaseh Madahbee
Anishinabek Nation
DATE: August 2, 2017

OVERVIEW:
The Ontario Hydro First Nations Delivery Credit (FNDC) begins to take effect August 1st, 2017 with steps to eliminate the delivery charge from hydro bills of on-reserve First Nation consumers.

In order to benefit from the FNDC, on-reserve First Nation hydro consumers must either have previously confirmed exemption of the HST from their hydro bill or complete and submit the First Nations Delivery Credit and HST Exemption Form to Hydro One.

Qualifying citizens will begin to see the delivery charge removed from their hydro bills by August 1st, 2017. The degree of removal is dependent upon the billing structure of individual accounts. Some may have the delivery charge completely removed by August while others will see a gradual reduction until October 2017, at which time all on-reserve billing is expected to have 100% of the delivery charges removed.
